When coaching can help

Does this sound familiar?

01 / Career

“I’m stuck at work”

You feel limited by your current role, you’ve been passed over for a promotion, or want to embark on a new career path but struggle to find the way forward. You want to understand what’s holding you back and begin to grow again.

02 / Responsibilities

“I’m pulled in too many directions”

You want to thrive professionally AND be the spouse, parent, friend you aspire to be. As life’s responsibilities grow, you feel caught between competing demands. You want clearer choices, and a path to prioritize what’s important in your life today.

03 / A new chapter

“I don’t know what comes next”

Your relationship to work is changing, children are leaving home, or retirement is approaching. You’re looking for purpose and meaning in the years ahead, even if you can’t yet describe the change you want.

My clients are successful people in their 30s through 50s navigating the middle passages of career, parenting or just life. You don’t need to have a clear destination before we begin, just be willing to explore the questions.

Transformation through transition

Understand yourselfFind a way forward

Coaching gives you dedicated space to understand what’s happening, listen more deeply for what matters to you, and practice new ways of responding.

Together, we identify meaningful goals and explore the patterns affecting your progress. Those patterns often developed for good reasons and helped you get where you are. As life changes, these same patterns may be limiting the pursuit of your goals.

Through our work, you can develop a clearer sense of yourself, strengthen skills related to your goals, and gain confidence in making decisions and taking action. You also build practical tools to notice when you’re stuck, regain perspective, and find your footing again.

My guiding purpose is transformation through transition: helping you grow into the person your next chapter calls you to become.

The coaching relationship

How we work together

In person or via Zoom
Generally every two weeks
60 minutes, with flexibility to extend to 75

My approach begins with listening and asking meaningful questions. I create a steady, open space where you can speak honestly—including about things you may find difficult to say elsewhere.

Listen and clarify

We clarify what you want, examine what gets in the way, and explore the stories and expectations shaping your choices.

Recognize patterns

I help you observe yourself and draw on the Enneagram to explore habitual behaviors, attitudes and responses with understanding and compassion.

Put insight into practice

Between sessions, I offer assignments and challenges tailored to your goals: a different conversation, a new boundary, a pertinent reading, or an experiment to bring new awareness or build a new skill.

Reflect and develop

We learn from what happens in everyday life. I’m supportive and willing to challenge you, bringing care and directness to things that may limit your progress.

The time between meetings gives you room to practice and bring what you’re learning into your daily life.

About Wylie

Experience in work,
family, and change

My early career followed a very “traditional” path. I worked in investment banking, technology and commercial real estate, putting my MBA to use as I thought I was supposed to. I was good at my work and I enjoyed it. Much of my “expertise” centered on finance, yet I consistently found the greatest satisfaction in connecting with people and understanding the underlying story that they brought to the transaction.

As my life shifted, so did my “career”. My family life and priorities called me to transition to take on the role of stay-at-home dad to my two children. The shift wasn’t easy, but I came to enjoy this new role – coaching sports, organizing teams and carpools, volunteering at school and supporting other parents.

In 2017 I became a Certified Life Coach and began coaching people going through transitions of their own. In 2018 I followed a new-found passion for yoga and became a certified yoga instructor (check out my class schedule here).

Through these varied experiences and life phases I’ve found the value of fully engaging with the transition that’s at hand. I continue to enjoy meeting people amidst their own transition and coaching them into their next phase. Join me in seeing where your path leads you.
